Frank, RMIT Gallery, Tracks 1 & 2 superimposed

RMIT University Project Space, Melbourne

29th April - 19 May 2011

for group exhibition, Diagram, curated by Charlotte Huddleston

While it may appear as though Gillam’s dog, Frank, explores the RMIT Project Space, he has in fact been videoed in front of a greenscreen. Frank charted an actual studio space, but one that is an any-space for staging cinema effects that allows a figure to be relocated anywhere. As a result, Frank’s diagrammatic movement follows a particular set of cues that bear no relationship to the space he appears in.
